One of our chickens has grown up to be a big mama hen!When Jim and I went back to the old house to collect the chickens last week, I found a surprise in one of the nest boxes - 3 eggs! We weren't expecting the girls to start laying for another month or two, so hadn't even thought to check for eggs. I just happened to glance in as I was shoveling up some bedding and there they were.
Since we don't know for sure how long ago these eggs were laid, we're going to pass on eating them. But, we've gotten three more eggs since - one each the past three days. So before the week is out, we'll be enjoying our first truly homemade scrambled eggs. It will be a feast.
