Not Quite What We Expected

It's now been a week since we moved into our new house, and we are starting to settle in. It was a rough go of it, but we had lots of help without which we would not have made it.

Moving weekend did not go quite as planned with first Drew getting the stomach flu Friday, then Annie, and Jim getting a cold. Not how we had hoped to say goodbye to our old house. But, by Sunday evening we had managed to get just about everything moved. Now, a week later, we're mostly all recovered and the only thing remaining to move is the bees which will be coming soon.

The boys have been doing remarkably well so far. They spent Sunday at Grandma & Grandpa Demko's house, away from all the hecticness. When Jim picked them up in the evening, they were very excited to come back and sleep at the new house, and did sleep very well, considering. We're counting ourselves very blessed with how well over all they've been sleeping here. It was a big concern beforehand, but has turned out ok so far. They are having a great time playing in their new room and play area, especially since they have discovered a box or two of "new" toys that we had taken out of circulation for a time at the old house. They talk about the old house, but mostly it's just about how we did this or that at the old house "yesterday". It's very funny to hear them sort of reminiscing about the past. But also very neat to see that they seem to be taking this in stride and to some degree understanding what's happening.

We've been slowly unpacking boxes and finding new homes for things and while there is still a long way to go, it is starting to feel more like home. So, thanks again to all who helped us and to those who have been wishing us well, we're very grateful!
